About Us
The Ebbs Chapel Community
Center provides
a venue for the performing arts,
conferences, festivals, weddings,
and similar
activities, and hosts services for the people of the Upper
Laurel community and those beyond, in and on the grounds of the
historic Ebbs Chapel School. The Center is managed by the
Upper Laurel Community Organization,
Inc., a registered non-profit North
Carolina corporation with voluntary
leadership, dedicated only to the
renovation, maintenance and operation of
the Center. Activities of the
Center are supported and funded by
facility rental proceeds, contributions
from the community and with the
cooperation and support of Madison
County, North Carolina.
At the heart of our mission is
supporting and hosting services for the
Upper Laurel community including a free
medical clinic, free community food
pantry, a free clothing/household items
closet, a designated senior meal site, and
voluntary fund-raising events for
neighbors in need. The Center also
offers the
Ebbs Chapel Quilt Group as well as game and exercise
rooms for community residents. We also are the home of
the annual Blackberry Festival and host
community gatherings such as the annual
Apple Butter Festival (sponsored by the
Bright Hope Laurel United Methodist
Church).
Join us by volunteering your time and/or
financial support, or join us as a
participant in our many activities where
we enjoy, celebrate, and assist the
wonderful people of the Upper Laurel
community. |
