MANNA Food Bank of Asheville

Every Saturday morning the Ebbs Chapel Food Pantry, in partnership with MANNA Food Bank of Asheville, provides food assistance to area families through their facility at Ebbs Chapel Community Center.  Food for distribution comes from their partners and donations from residents of the Upper Laurel community. Your cash donations allow the Pantry to supplement its offerings with healthy purchases from local sources.

The Pantry seeks to serve the fourteen percent of Madison County’s population, including over 3000 children, who are food insecure.  Food insecurity not only impacts health of all in direct ways, but especially impacts children’s development and success.

The Pantry was organized by the Ebbs Chapel Community Center’s neighboring institution, Bright Hope Laurel United Methodist Church, and hosted by the Community Center.  Today the Pantry is operated by Upper Laurel neighbors to serve all those throughout the community who can benefit from food assistance.

All who may benefit from the Pantry’s services are welcome to visit the Food Pantry 9 to 11 AM each Saturday to complement their table.  And those wishing to donate food items or cash support to the Pantry are welcome during those hours as well.  Donation boxes are also located at sites throughout the community for those who wish to contribute.
